FMs announcements on 26th march 2020 during Covid 19 outbreak
1.7 lac crores Package to benefit urban and rural migrant workers thru Direct Cash transfers as below
Providing 50 lacs per person medical insurance cover for Paramedical staff, nurses, doctors, medical personnel, sanitation staff, technicians and Gods in white uniform. Benefits accruing to 20 lacs such people
PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna - 80 crores people which is two thirds of Indias population will get 5 kgs rice or wheat will be given free for next three months over and above the regular 5 kgs rice and wheat. 1 kgs of choice of pulses as per that area to be given per household for next three months can be taken in more than one instalment
DBT cash transfers thru -:
Farmers- who receive 6000 annually - 8.69 crore farmers to be given 2,000 upfront in the first week of April by transferring in their bank accounts
MNREGA - wage increases will benefit 5 crore families - 182 rupees increased to 202 rupees per day
Old age above 60 years- Poor widows pensioners divyangs - ex gratia to be given to 3 crore senior citizens rs.1000 additional in two instalments in next three months thru DBT account transfers
Jan Dhan women account - ex gratia of 500 per month for next three months benefitting 20 crore women
Ujjawala yojna scheme- nearly 8.3 crore BPL families will be given three cylinders for three months
Self help group women dealing with livelihood mission - benefit impact on 7 crore households will get up to 20 lacs collateral free loan doubled from 10 lacs previously
Organised sector workers under PM garib kalyan yojna- govt will pay the epf contribution both of employer and employee totalling 24% provident fund - Govt of india will bear such epf contributions for next three months for such establishments having upto 100 employees and 90% of such employees draw less than 15000 rupees. Benefits For 80 lac employees and 4 lacs establishments will be benefitted
EPFO scheme regulations will be amended/ tweaked to allow to withdraw the own amount lying in non refundable advance upto 75% or three months of wages, whichever is lower, 4.80 crores workers will be benefitted in this withdrawal regulations
Construction workers- under central Govt act, there is 31000 crore worker welfare reserve fund - instructions to be given to state govt to use that fund to protect those building and construction 3.5 crore workers can be used to avoid economic disruption
District Mineral funds - requesting the state Govts to use that fund for medical testing and screening activities for public health welfare |
